Port Blair, Mar 10: The Election Commission of India has announced a detailed schedule for the Parliamentary Elections 2014. Accordingly, the elections to the A & N islands parliamentary constituency is to be held on 10th April, 2014.
As per the directions of the Election Commission, special camps will be held in all the polling stations across the islands between 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday, 9th March to provide one more chance to the left out electorates to enrol their names in the electoral roll by filling form No, 6. The respective Booth Level Officers shall be available with the copies of the relevant part of the electoral rolls and necessary forms at the special camps.
The Returning officer for A & N Parliamentary constituency, P Jawahar appealed to all the eligible voters to avail this opportunity before the electoral rolls are finalized.
The voters can also check their names in the electoral rolls by visiting the website www.and.nic.in and then clicking under Parliamentary Elections 2014 and avail search option either by name or EPIC number . The voters can also avail SMS facility by typing AN (
space ) EPICNO (type all digits of EPIC) and send SMS to 51969.
A toll free number 1950 has also been setup in the election control room to inform the general public about their Booth level officer.(PIB)
