Port Blair, Feb 26: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today demanded to expedite the appointment process of selected candidates in the post of Sub-Inspector prior to enforcement of code of conduct on account of Lok Sabha Election.
Addressing a press conference this evening the Member of Parliament today sai the vacancy notice of SI was published in the month of March, 2012 and due to court proceeding, the result was declared on 12.10.2013. He said that the pre-appointment formalities i.e Medical examination, Police verification etc. was completed by 14.10.2013 and the list of selected candidates for 45 posts was published in the daily telegram on 15.10.2013.
“Since, the matter is delayed for nearly 2 years and the unemployed youth, who are eagerly waiting for their appointment even after clearing all formalities as required for the Govt. Service, are deprived of their rights,” he said.
The MP told media that the code of conduct in connection with ensuing Lok Sabha Election is likely to be enforced shortly and if delayed further the entire process will automatically delayed more for another six months.
Mr. Ray further informed that he has written a letter to the Lt. Governor to intervene in this matter and issue direction to the concerned authorities to fill up the post immediately.
During the press meet, the MP also informed that funds sanctioned under the MPLAD in South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman and Car Nicobar has not been utilized and demanded for depositing the same to MPLAD. However, he informed the media that authorities concerned from Carnicobar have agreed to deposit the un-utilized fund amounting Rs. 67lakh to MPLAD. The MP further said that the CEO Zila Parishad South Andaman has informed that the un-utilized fund amounting Rs. 35lakh will be returned to MPLAD fund.
