Port Blair, Feb 11: Services will be operating Govt. boat from Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex (RGWSC) to Ross Island from 13/02/2014. A 50 passenger boat namely M.V. Durgaprasad will be making three trips daily from water sports complex to Ross Island for tourists.
The tickets for the above boat service will be issued by the Directorate of Tourism at Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex on first come first served basis. No advance reservation is available at present. Tourists/their representative would have to submit a filled-up application form at the counter.
The passenger fare for a return journey to Ross Island is fixed as Rs. 100/-. All passengers above 5 years would have to purchase the tickets. The schedule is as below:

It is informed that all passengers have to compulsorily follow the safety instructions and wear lifejackets during their journey. A lifeguard will also be available on board. The service would be available on all days except Wednesdays.
The Tourist Security Enforcement Team (TSET) constituted by the Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman with representatives from Police, PMB and Tourism will enforce and monitor safe operation of boat from RGWSC besides an S-O-S kiosk (Emergency Assistance Booth) comprising of Police, Paramedic & Life Guards will be functioning at RGWSC.
