We are alive: Is the message for Administration
Staff Correspondent
Port Blair, Mar 16: A large number of Islanders today joined hands and brought out a peaceful candle light march against the unjustified power outrage in South Andaman region. This rally was different from other protests as this case the rally was solely organised by common man without involving banner of any political party or big business house.
Peacefully protesting Islanders from almost all walks of life, joined the rally with candle, torches, mobile lights and emergency lights. Some were holding banners and handbills.
Protests like these are a signal for Administration that enough is enough as the common man of Andaman andNicobar Islandshas started to react.
Hit by heavy power cut, severe shortage of water, poor internet service, jammed mobile network general public looked worried and frustrated.
The peaceful candle light march started from Goal Ghar and passed through Middle Point, Bazaar, Clock Tower, Gandhi statue of Mohapura and culminated infront of SE office of Electricity Department.
Hope the Administration will get the message right and act more seriously towards providing better amenities to Islanders.
