Port Bair, Jan 10: The District Administration, South Andaman invites all the general public, Govt. officials, school children and parents to come and witness the ‘Civic Reception’ at Netaji Stadium to be hosted by the Port Blair Municipal in honour of the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, who is visiting the Islands from 11th to 13th January, 2014.
The Port Blair Municipal Council is organizing the Civic Reception in a very grand and befitting manner reflecting the true spirit of A & N Islands to honour the President of India. During the Civic Reception , there will be a15 minutes cultural event in which more than 1000 school children will be performing dances representing the multi cultural environment prevailing in A & N Islands.
The President of India will also be addressing the general public on the occasion. The District Administration on behalf of the A & N Administration extends a warm welcome to all the general public, Govt. officials, teachers, students and parents to come and witness and make the event even more colourful and successful. All the arrangements for comfortable seating have been made including two gigantic LED screens for live casting the entire event in the stadium.
The fire display works by the Naval Ships on sea behind Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex will be an added attraction to the Civic Reception. The people are advised to reach the stadium early and take their seating position before 3.30 PM on 11th January, 2014. The programme will start at 3.50 PM and end by 0500 PM. (PIB)
