Port Blair, Jan 09: To commemorate the 66th Army Day a number of activities and events are being organized. As part of the celebration a Golf Tournament was held at the lush green coastal ANCOM Golf Links course on 04 Jan 2014, in Birchgunj Military Station. 52 Members of the club participated in the tournament. Capt (IN) Sanjay Kumar was adjudged the winner of the tournament. A chip & putt competition was also held which was won by Capt (IN) Sanjay Kumar & Mrs Gayatri Pandey.
Prizes were given away to the winners by Mrs Ranjana Roy, President DWWA and Air Marshal PK Roy, AVSM, VM, VSM, ADC, Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command who complimented the players for their impressive show.
Though this course is one of the trickiest courses which poses many challenges to the players in the form of morning dew, creeks and hillocks, the golfers left past these difficulties by sticking to the basics i.e. keeping the ball straight and put up a splendid show with zeal and fervor.
