Port Blair, Dec 17: In a welcome step, the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lt. Gen (Retd.) A K Singh has asked the Secretary to review tariff for islanders at various Andaman Bhawans at mainland India.
The former Lt. Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh had already approved reduction of room tariff for journalists of A & N Islands and Physically Challenged and BPL Physically Challenged persons in all the guest houses located in the Islands thus fulfilling the long pending demand of the local journalists. Tweeting on a social network site, www.twitter.com, he said that “Hav asked the secy to review charges for islanders ať various bhavans,,lower charges for first Few days,, this is a genuine demand”.
