Port Blair, Dec 18: The Chief Secretary Anand Prakash has today inaugurated another free centre of tailoring and fashion designing opened by the Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Union at Haddo No: 2, a slum area for the benefit of the rural women.
The Chief Secretary Anand Prakash is his address has stated that time has come when all the womenfolk, especially of the rural and areas need to know that their identity also keep same importance which their counterparts have and recorded his happiness to witness such a good number of womenfolk who have come here for getting skill training.
Anand Prakash has also stated that skill trainings are always good for those who want to establish their independency. Such trainings are the root of social and economic developments and hence more and more women should come forward for such trainings which they are now getting at free of cost from the Union. The Chief Secretary has also praised the efforts of Kuldeep who is always have a vision for the overall development of the people of these islands giving special care to the weaker groups.
In his welcome address the Chairman of ANSCU Kuldeep Rai Sharma has stated that the Union is always taking care for up bringing of the womenfolk of these islands, especially of the rural areas. Kuldeep has further stated that since there is no scope or very little scope of employment in Govt. Sector, so it is high time for everyone to have some skill related training and create self help groups or cooperatives and earn their livelihood independently. During these hard days this has become very difficult for the head of the family to run a family and hence if the womenfolk comes out of their boundaries and have training in various skills, opt for constituting cooperatives or self help groups and start earning money this will be a great help for their families. Kuldeep has further informed that by this date the ANSCU has opened 21 such training centers where about 1500 ladies and unemployed girls have got training and many of them have them started their own business. The team of ANSCU has proposal to cover whole Andaman and Nicobar Islands with such training centers for the welfare of the housewives and unemployed girls and the management will feel fully satisfied when their efforts are not gone in vain rather the trainees may start their own business by constituting SHG and Cooperatives and become independent. He has also stated that in the present training course total 80 woman candidates have enrolled their names when 31 trainees will be given certificates of the completion of the course. The Chief Secretary has handed over the certificates to those 31 pass out trainees.
The DGM NABARD Thanvi, thanking the Chairman of ANSCU for taking initiative to give training to the rural womenfolk in various skill, has stated that after passing out, they may avail loan from the ANS Cooperative Bank and start their business. He has also suggested that these trainees may also be trained in preparing clothing of men.
The Secretary Cooperation NK Sharma has recorded his pleasure to the fact that ANSCU is doing very well in cooperative sector. By opening another free centre in tailoring and fashion designing, the Chairman ANSCU Kuldeep is inspiring the rural womenfolk towards independency which is a good sign for a developed society. Ward councilors Hema Rao and Nair were also present in the function beside PRI members, Vice Chairman ANSCU Biswarup Banjerjee, MD ANS Cop Bank Ravinder Rao, Ramlal GS ANSCU and other dignitaries.
