Infanticide is reality in Andamans

Port Blair, Dec. 18: Body of a newborn baby girl was found from Dairy Farm Sea-Shore area yesterday. People in the area made the grisly discovery and called the police at around 6.00 am yesterday.
According to eye witnesses the body of the 2 or 3 day old baby was in highly decomposed state and was brought to the shore by sea waves. Police is conducting further inquiry.
Earlier, in many occasions in past, such bodies of newborn babies were found in Sea Shore areas of A & N Islands, which shows that infanticide is a reality in this Union Territory.
