Mayabunder, Dec. 10 : A team of Forest officials headed by Shri. I R. Riju, Forester alongwith Shri Tarkeshwar, Forest Guard of Anti-encroachment Squad, Mayabunder in collaboration with the Beat Officer at Webi, Shri. M.C. Das and workers detected wildlife offence case on Dec. 7 in which they seized 2 live Olive Ridley Turtles (Sch-I) weighing 3.250 kg and 6.700 kg respectively.
Three accused persons were arrested in this connection. Smti. Lalita Singh, Range officer, Tugapur booked the case under WPA, 1972 in the Court of CJM, Mayabunder and the 02 live Olive Ridley Turtles had been released in the sea at Karmatang Turtle Beach successfully in the presence of witnesses, a communication received here said.
