Port Blair, Dec. 03: The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, has called upon office bearers and workers of political parties, voluntary organisations, associations, social workers to join hands for drawing the attention of Administration and Govt. of India towards the problem of growing unemployment and infiltration of non-locals in Govt. job of A & N Administration. In an appeal sent to the Press today, the MP has requested them to attend a meeting at 10 am in the Andaman Tamizhar Sangam Mini hall on Dec. 8, 2013 to discuss certain issues viz. promulgation of A&N Island Public Employment Regulation, Inner Line Permit and Constitution of State Service Selection Board etc.
The MP in his appeal said this problem had cropped in long back, out of a Supreme Court judgment and the Ministries of Home Affairs and Law has turned down the proposal of the Administration for Promulgation of A&N Islands Public Employment Regulation, without going into merit and seriousness of the issues.
The proposed regulation is the only solution that would restrict entry of the non-locals, which needs to be promulgated immediately under Article 240 within the frame work of Article 16(3) and (4) of the Constitution, the MP said.
This issue can be solved only by presenting our case to the Prime Minister of India, Union Minister and to the Administration in an organised manner, the MP said in his appeal.
