Port Blair, Nov 19: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Andaman & Nicobar Aids Control Society, Port Blair organized Youth Awareness on HIV/AIDS programme at Govt. Primary School, Amkunj on 18/11/2013 in which 50 participants participated. On the occasion Mr. Manoj Biswas, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Nimbutala was the chief guest while Smti V. Leena, AIDs Counsellor and Smti Minu Poddar, Health Education were resource persons.
Mr. Alphonce Toppo, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat welcomed the chief guest, other guests as well as gathering and briefed about the main objective of the programme. Smti V. Leena, AIDs Counsellor elaborated about the disease HIV-AIDs as well as preventing measure from the disease. She also distributed printed materials related to HIV-AIDs among participants.
Smti Minu Poddar, Health Education also interacted with participants about the HIV-AIDs and briefed about blood donation. The chief guest in his speech emphasized about more awareness the disease for healthy life particularly among youths. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Toppo, ACT, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat proposed vote of thanks.
On the other hand a drawing competition on preventing measures of HIV- AIDs was also organized at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Sabri.
