Port Blair, Nov 18: It is brought to the notice of the general public and government department that the Electricity Department as part of its endeavour to improve and render better services to the general public has introduced web-based Electric Billing Software at Prothrapur-I site office (Pathergudda) on trial basis.
Due to this the printing of electric bills and distribution of bills for the month of October, 2013, got delayed. Now, the consumer bills for the month or October, 2013, in respect of consumer coming under Prothrapur-l (Pathergudda) site office has been issued and last date fixed for payment is 29.11.2013. If electric bills are not received by 25.11.2013, the consumers may approach the cash collection counter alongwith an old electric bill or old receipt without waiting for electric bill to reach them, on or before 29.11.2013 for payment.
The counter clerks have been instructed to entertain the old bills or receipt to verify their account number and accept amount for current month based on bill data available in the computer system. Timely payment of bill will avoid surcharge.
