Port Blair, Oct 20: The A&N State Cooperative Union opened another training centre in Tailoring and Fashion Designing at Baratang, Middle Andaman recently. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A&N State Cooperative Union was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman said that the A&N State Cooperative Union is undertaking activities aiming at empowerment of poor rural women and development of their skills in tailoring and fashion designing to enable them to adopt self employment for their livelihood and augmenting the family income leading life with dignity.
He further said the centre with provide facility to unemployed women of the surrounding area to acquire requisite skills in Tailoring and fashion designing to enable them to take up self employment. He advised them to form self help groups and co-operative societies for improving their economic condition and secure loan from the bank for higher benefit.
Earlier Mr. Anant Rao, Joint Secretary, A&N State Cooperative Union welcomed the gathering, Mr. Kurma Rao, ZP Member, Smti Somali Roy, Pradhan, Nilambur Gram Panchayat, Mr. Krusdhari, Up-Pradhan, Nilambur Gram Panchayat, Mr. Trisfur, Ekka, Samiti Member also spoke on the occasion.
Smti Sarita Toppo, Field Mobilizer, A&N State Coop Union proposed vote of thanks. Altogether 30 women of the surrounding area registered their names in centre for undergoing the training course, a communication from General Secretary, ANSCU said here.
