Port Blair, Oct 06: Mr. D.N. Singh, Secretary, Education visited the GPS Shoal Bay-8, GSS Shoal Bay-12, GPS Shoal Bay-14, GMS Wright Myo and GPS Shaitankhari on 4th October 2013. During the visit, he directed the principals and deputy education officers to ensure timely supply of mid-day meal to the students. The Secretary (Edn) also directed that the quality of mid-day meal needs to be improved further to bring it to the acceptable standard. The Secretary also directed to approach the APWD/PRI authorities for proper repair/maintenance of the school building and other infrastructure. Secretary further asked DEO to take up the issue of fencing of schools on priority with APWD. The Secretary directed that student/teacher ratio in GMS Wright Myo and GPS Shaitankhari is required to be reviewed.
