Port Blair, Sept 26: The Anthropological Survey of India’s Regional Centre at Port Blair observes Hindi week from 23rd September last. The Director of Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair, R Mohan inaugurated the weeklong celebration at AnSI centre, Port Blair on Monday , while the Deputy Director , AnSI, Dr M Sasikumar presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, R Mohan highlighted the importance of Hindi as link language for all across the country. A special debate programme for the Hindi speaking and non Hindi speaking personnel was also held at the centre.
During the week, various contests are being organized to promote the usage of Hindi among the staff members at all levels. The weeklong celebration will culminate on 27th September with the valedictory function at the centre. (PIB)
