Port Blair, Sept 11: The first Consultative cum Discussion Meeting on Bio-Diversity Act will open in Port Blair on 12th September. The implementation of the Biological Diversity Act (2002) and Rules (2004) in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be discussed in the meeting, besides preparing the future Road Map.
The Chairman of National Bio-diversity Authority, Dr Bala Krishna Pisupati, Director General of Forest Survey of India , Dr S K Srivastava, Director of Zoological Survey of India, Dr K Venkatraman, and the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests(Wild Life), Madhav Trivedy will participate in the inaugural session of the meeting.
The Scientists, Dr Ravishankar Thupalli and Dr K P Raghuram from National Bio-diversity Authority will conduct the thematic sessions.
This one day meet is held under the auspices of National Bio-diversity Authority, Ministry of Environment and Forests.(PIB)
