Port Blair, Sept 10: 14th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Junglighat, Port Blair on 08th September, 2013 in association with Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society. to mark the “MANAV EKTA DIWAS”.
The Zonal Incharge, West Bengal, Mr. Arjan Singh Ji, also attended the camp. He informed that the source of blood is only human body. Blood does not distinguish on the basis of cast and creed, it suits to every person. The colour of blood is red which cannot be changed with pressure of any religion. He also appraised the august gathering of the various humanitarian activities the mission was undertaking at a global level.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A&N Constituency, emphasized the importance of Satguru in our life who directed us to go through right path in our life. He also appreciate the missions various social activities in an around Andaman Islands. Meanwhile, Mr. Ray also appreciated the word of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Maharaj that the blood should not be flow in the street it should flow in the vein of human body so let us donate blood earnestly in the interest of needful personal.
Mr. R.S. Yadav, Mukhi, Port Blair branch concluded the camp with the vote of thanks to the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Altogether 84 volunteers were registered and out of them 41 (09 female and 32 male) donated their blood. We expected more than 200 donors to participate in the camp but due to bad weather condition many people could not attend the camp.
