Port Blair, Aug 29: The Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) from College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad comprising Head of Faculty, Directing Staff and Course Participants are on a visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 29 Aug to 01 Sep 13, as part of their curriculum.
CDM is a premier tri-service institution imparting higher management training to officers of the Defence Services. HDMC participants are exposed to contemporary management thoughts, concepts and practices in senior leadership. With effective decision making and efficient resource management crucial to effectiveness of the Armed Forces, considerable investments are being made towards knowledge management amongst military leadership. Participants of HDMC are awarded Masters in Management Studies from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
On visits to the military components at Port Blair, the course was briefed on various unique facets of these Islands, such that future military leadership remains sensitive to civil security, development, ecology and environment imperatives.
The course also visited various places of interest in Port Blair including Cellular Jail where they witnessed the Light and Sound Show, the National Museum and Ross Island.
