Port Blair, Mar 01: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray today cried foul over the alleged move of Administration to neglect and sideline him from government functions.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of newly Constructed PHC, Chouldari the MP alleged that for the programme he was not initially invited.
“I got a call this morning from APWD officers and they said that by mistake they forgot to invite me. Even my name is not there in the inauguration plaque. This is an insult to general public, who elected me and the Lok Sabha,” the MP said.
In his speech, the MP raised the issue of sub standard medicines, which were supplied by DHS. “Out of 11 samples, five samples were found to be sub-standard and these medicines are causing serious damage to our health. I demand that only good quality medicines be supplied to people of A & N Islands,” the MP said.
The MP also raised the issues of low airfare for stretcher patients and health scheme for retired government servants.
Replying to MP’s speech the Lt. Governor said that he may not stay in these Islands in future but the Member of Parliament will be here. He said that his conscious are clear and he has not done anything wrong. “God will not spare me if I have done anything wrong,” he said.
