Port Blair, July 31: Many widow, deserted and illiterate women who are not eligible for Govt. Job can be engaged in such livelihood activities for which raw materials are either locally available or with meager investment of capital and short duration training of 2 or 3 days in Food Processing if arranged particularly on coconut and marine based production and preparation of various types Masala Powder.
So for Unnati alone trained 520 women candidates in Food Processing and out of which 132 women already started preparing various types of pickles and coconut sweets, desiccated powder in Unnati’s Food Processing training cum production center.
On demand from women group Unnati imported machines and equipments worth Rs. 5 Lac. for preparation of various types of masala powder in for which there is good demand and market. Training for operation of machines already started from 30-7-2013 by resource person hired from mainland. The trainees will also imparted preparation of various types of masala by Food Consultant from Bangalore who is also reaching shortly.
In a press release Mr C Mohammed, President of Unnati today said that Unnati is ready to arrange short duration training in Food Processing for 2 days to such catching of women and they were assist them with loan amount of Rs. 10 to 15, they can easily earn their livelihood.
