Port Blair, Jul 26: A rally was organized by the Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd on the occasion of the 14th Kargil Vijay Diwas today in the memory of the great Indian Soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the mother land.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman called the Islanders to join the Rally, the rally arosed felling of patriotism among the citizens which filled the whole environment with the patriotic slogans like Vande Mataram, Kargil Shaheed zindabaad, Kargil Vijay Diwas amar rahe.
The Rally started at 9:30 Am from ITF ground which covered the area of Junglighat, Middle Point and went upto Kargil Vijaya Smarak at B.Ed College where the Vice Chairman, Managing Director, Coop. Bank and other dignitaries payed floral tribute to the heroes of Kargil war.
While the Rally was proceeding to the Kargil Smarak, the pedestrians stopped to pay their respect to the Martyrs, the great India Soldiers and the housewives and others at home came out of their houses to pay their respect. In the rally, apart from the officers and employees of the ANS Coop Bank, leaders of Political Party, students, NCC Cadets,general public, women with babies in their lap also participated.
When the rally reached to Kargil Vijay Smarak at B.Ed College, the students of adjacent areas came out of their classes and sought patriotic slogans.
After paying tribute at the Smarak, the rally then proceeded towards Cellular jail to pay floral tribute at the Smarak via Gandhi Bhavan -Aberdeen Bazar – Clock tower.
Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, Mr. K Murugan, Dy. Managing Director, and many other dignitaries were also present in the rally. The Rally was culminated at Cellular Jail with the words of thanks to all the participants from the Managing Director Mr. Ravinder Rao.
