Port Blair, Jul 26: National Students Union of India, a frontal organization of Congress Party organized a blood donation camp at Tiranga Park today under the leadership of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma in connection with the 14th Kargil Vijay Diwas as a token of respect to the great Indian soldiers.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma. President, PCC in his inaugural speech lauded the efforts of the students who came forward to donate their blood.
Mr. Sharma said that donating blood saves valuable lives. Dr. M.K. Mahato, Dy. Director, Blood Safety, G.B. Pant Hospital supervised the camp, Mrs. Rantna Kanna, Chairperson, Social welfare Board, Mr. Mahinder Prasad, Councillor, ward No:7.
A total of 28 students donated their blood out of which 10 were girls students. Mr. Sharma also distributed medicines to the volunteer girls who came forward to donate blood for building their health. Mr. Tanmay Mallick, President, NSUI proposed vote of thanks while Mr. Rajendran had welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering.
