Sri Vijaya Puram, October 22: Mrs. Archana Kumari, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Pokkadera; Mrs. S. Meena Kumari, Panchayat Samiti Member; and Mr. Jaisilan, Ward Member, Pokkadera, met the Secretary (Health) and raised various concerns regarding the District Hospital, Mayabunder.
The main issues included the posting of specialist doctors (General Surgeon, Ophthalmologist and Orthopaedic Specialist); the provision of a permanent X-ray technician and a qualified sonography technician; the availability of doctors and sanitation staff at night; an increase in the number of existing sanitation staff; and the immediate repair and renovation of the hospital staff quarters.
They requested the Secretary (Health) to take the necessary action on priority to improve medical services and health facilities for the people of Mayabunder.
