Sri Vijaya Puram, October 22: Today, the Member of Parliament, along with his office staff, met the Dy. Chief Engineer, ALHW, to review the ongoing and proposed measures for the repair and reconstruction of 40 jetties across the A&N Islands, a matter he had taken up with the Shipping Ministry earlier.
The review was aimed at assessing the progress of the works and the proposed action plan to address the long-pending requirements of jetty infrastructure across the Islands, which is vital for inter-island connectivity, transportation and the convenience of islanders.
The MP will pursue this important issue and raise it during the forthcoming meeting of the Shipping Ministry at Puri on 03.11.2026, with the objective of expediting the necessary interventions for the repair and reconstruction of the jetties.
