Sri Vijaya Puram, October 16: As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan campaign, South Andaman District Police conducted a series of anti-drug awareness programmes in various educational institutions across the district to sensitise students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage their active participation in building a drug-free society.
The awareness programmes were conducted by the District Headquarters, South Andaman, covering prominent educational institutions including Law College, JNRM College, ANCOL College, Mohanpura School, Vivekananda School and GSSS Haddo.
During these programmes, students were sensitised to the physical, mental, social and legal consequences of drug abuse and its adverse impact on individuals, families and society. They were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles, make informed and responsible choices, and stay away from narcotic substances. Students were also urged to spread awareness among their peers, within their campuses and in their neighbourhoods.
