
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 11: The Department of Environment & Forests, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, in coordination with Police Station Bambooflat, conducted a joint patrolling operation at Shoal Bay-19.
During the operation, one packet of suspected venison was recovered from an individual. A subsequent search of the individual’s residential premises, conducted under a valid search warrant, led to the recovery of 10 additional packets of suspected venison and a deer head.
The total quantity of suspected venison recovered was approximately 13 kg.
The person concerned was subsequently brought to the Range Office, Mannarghat, for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
