Sri Vijaya Puram: The newly launched Toyota Hilux has made its debut in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with its first delivery taking place in Sri Vijaya Puram on Friday, marking a significant addition to Toyota’s latest vehicle range available in the islands.
The delivery ceremony brought together members of the Toyota team and the vehicle’s new owner, Dr Arun Kumar Malik. The focus of the event remained on the newly launched Hilux, its features and its suitability for the road and terrain conditions found across different parts of the islands.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sagar Khurana, Dealer Principal, Price Toyota said the vehicle represented the first delivery of the newly launched Hilux in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He said the company was expecting more bookings and deliveries of the model in the coming days.
Mr. Khurana highlighted the vehicle’s four-wheel-drive capability and its suitability for challenging road conditions. According to him, the Hilux could be particularly useful for people travelling to remote areas and villages, including parts of North and Middle Andaman where road conditions can be difficult.
“The new Hilux is a very strong vehicle, especially for off-roading,” Mr. Khurana said while describing its potential use in the islands. He also spoke about the vehicle’s newly introduced Sulphur Metallic colour, which was displayed on the vehicle delivered during the event.
The ceremony also saw the Toyota team speak about the vehicle’s design and capability, particularly its suitability for long-distance travel and difficult terrain. The company representatives said the Hilux was intended to offer a combination of utility and capability for customers looking for a vehicle that could handle varied road conditions.
Dr Arun Kumar Malik, who received the vehicle, thanked the Toyota team for its support throughout the purchase process. He said the team had kept him updated from the time he decided to purchase the vehicle and had assisted with the transaction, documentation and additional fittings.
The newly delivered Hilux is expected to be used for travel across different parts of the islands, including rural and remote areas. The delivery has also brought attention to the growing demand for vehicles capable of handling the varied terrain and road conditions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Toyota team expressed optimism about further customer interest in the newly launched Hilux and said additional bookings and deliveries were expected shortly.
