Port Blair, July 02: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma attended the programme of Association of Rural People of AN Islands(ARPAN) organised in the Community hall at Ograbraj Village as Chief Guest on 2nd July, 2013.
In his speech Sharma praised the yeomen services rendered by the whole team of the NGO (ARPAN) and its Chairman NM Bashir for the betterment and upliftment of the poor irrespective of caste, creed and colour. He has recorded his utmost pleasure and satisfaction for the noble deed of the team of ARPAN which has come forward for the help of needy students by distributing free school kits containing School uniforms of the respective schools, note books, geometry boxes, pen, pencil etc.
“I am always committed to help the students and poor,” said Sharma and stated that this noble deed of the ARPAN will inspire others also to come forward with their supporting hands to the poor students and such activities of ARPAN will motivate the students towards their studies.
Sharma then handed over the kits to the poor students of Sr Sec School, Port Mout and Tushnabad, Middle school, Ograbraj, Primary school, Muslim Basti and Tushnabad. Total 15 students were selected this time for distribution of school kits.
Mr. Mohd Safiq, Pramukh, Mr. N.K.Unnin, Ex Pradhan, Mr. N M Bashir, Chairman, ARPAN and Mr. A Samsuddin, Exec. Member ARPAN also spoke on the occasion. Mr. Abdul Gafoor, Organizing Secretary ARPAN proposed vote of thanks. Among others present were Mr. R V Reddy, President DCC, Mr. Anand Amrit Raj, ZP member, Mr. I P Singh, Jr. Vice Chairman, PBMC , Mr. Subramani, District Secretary DCC, and Mr. Anant Rao, Gen. Secy DCC. People from Hobdipur, Tushnabad, Port Mout, Ograbraj and Muslim Basthi attended the program.
