
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 07: Despite many limitations amidst a dismal environment, a ‘Divyangjan’ too can make a difference and can rise. This is the success story of an especially abled teacher of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Mayabunder, who received the Best Teacher National Award from the President of India. He is Mr. J. Prakasa Rao. On his achievement, the students of Andaman Law College felicitated here on Monday at their auditorium. In his speech, Prakasa Rao shared his experiences as a divyangjan to the national significance. He appealed to the students to take every challenge as an opportunity to raise the standard of life. “I took every challenge as an opportunity. With limited mobility and limited resources, I was able to make a difference in teaching. Principal Dr. P.V.N. Sarma while presiding over the meeting, said that Prakasa Rao brought laurels to the Islands and to the teaching community by winning the National Teacher Award 2026. Puja Patro and Sania anchored the programme, whereas Tanzeela Arif proposed a vote of thanks.
