
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 7:The Chief Pay and Accounts Office (CPAO), A&N Administration, marked an important milestone in strengthening professional capacity and digital accessibility with the inauguration of ‘SAKSHAM – CPAO’s Training Wing’ and the launch of the official CPAO website today.
SAKSHAM, which stands for ‘Skill Augmentation and Knowledge Strengthening for Human Resources engaged in Accounts and Finance Management,’ has been conceived as a dedicated training and capacity-building initiative of the CPAO. The Training Wing aims to provide structured learning opportunities to personnel dealing with accounts, finance, pay and related administrative functions, thereby enhancing their professional knowledge, skills and efficiency.
The programme was graced by Mr. Hemant Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Finance), A&N Administration, as the chief guest, and Mr. S. Dasgupta, Director of Accounts & Budget and Chief Pay & Accounts Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of continuous learning, skill development and effective use of technology in ensuring efficient and transparent financial administration. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards building a competent, knowledgeable and future-ready workforce in the field of public financial management.
The official CPAO website https://cpao.andamannicobar.gov.in developed with the assistance of SOVTECH was also launched on the occasion, providing a dedicated digital platform for dissemination of important information, instructions, updates, training-related resources and other services of the Chief Pay and Accounts Office.
Through SAKSHAM, the CPAO proposes to organise training programmes, workshops, hands-on learning sessions and other knowledge-sharing initiatives for Government personnel and stakeholders associated with accounts and financial management.
The CPAO expressed its commitment to making SAKSHAM a sustained platform for learning, knowledge sharing and continuous professional development, ultimately contributing to greater efficiency and effectiveness in public financial administration across the Islands.
