Port Blair, June 27: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor for considering implementation of Govt of India, Ministry of Personnel, public grievances and pension deptt’s OM No: K-11022/67/2012-AR dt 10th May, 2013 in the offices of the AN Administration.
In his letter Sharma has written to the Administrator that Vide Office Memorandum No: K-11022/67/2012-AR dt 10th May, 2013 of the Govt of India, Ministry of personnel, public grievances and Pensions deptt,New Delhi this has been stated that the Second Administrative Reforms commission in its 12th report has recommended adopting of self certification provision for simplifying procedures of attestation. Accordingly some Ministries and State Governments have adopted the provision of self certification of documents like mark sheets, birth certificates etc by the applicant instead of attested copy of the documents by a Gazetted officer but the original documents are required to be produced at the final stage.
Hence Kuldeep has requested the Administrator to consider adoption of self attestation system in the offices of AN Administration so that the local unemployed youths who run from one door to other for getting their documents attested by a Gezetted officer by spending hard earned money of their parents/guardians and valuable time, may get some relief. Kuleeep in his letter stated that the Lt Governor is always sympathetic to the unemployed youths, and if he considers and agrees with this issue of self attestation, the unemployed youths will be benefitted very much. Sharma has also requested to bring other class of people of the society, if possible, to bring under his consideration in the matter of adoption of self attestation procedure with a condition to produce the required document at the final stage.
I would rather suggest doing away with submission of documents in the application stage. This will significantly reduce the burden on the unemployed. But self attestation in job applications at a time when every body wants to get into a Govt job, by hook or crook, the step will surely complicate the issue for the Employer. Authorities beware.
