Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 28: A minor was admitted to G.B. Pant Hospital after allegedly consuming sweets containing bhang reportedly purchased from a paan shop in the Aberdeen Bazaar area.
According to sources, the minor developed symptoms including dizziness, vomiting and a sensation of intoxication after consuming the sweets and was taken to G.B. Pant Hospital for treatment. The minor was subsequently discharged from the hospital.
The incident was reported to Aberdeen Police, and a statement was recorded at the Child and Women Help Desk. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the sale and consumption of the alleged bhang sweets.
As per sources, authorities have also issued a notice to the concerned shop owner in connection with the incident for further necessary action. The matter is being examined by the authorities, including the circumstances under which the sweets were sold to the minor.
As the matter involves a minor and is being dealt with under applicable child-protection provisions, the identity and other identifying details of the child have not been disclosed.
