
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 31: The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya organized the college-level ‘Red Run 2026’ marathon on National Sports Day to raise awareness among students about HIV/AIDS prevention, safe practices and healthy living.
Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, Andaman and Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and flagged off the run on 29th August 2026 at 7:15 AM in the presence of Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM. In his address, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness and highlighted the vital role of youth in promoting awareness and encouraging safe and healthy practices among their peers.
Students participated in the marathon in male and female categories. At the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM presented trophies, certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 1,000 to the first, second and third position holders, respectively, in both categories.
The event was organized by Dr. Satyender Pal Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education, and coordinated by Dr. Tamil Bharathan T. K., RRC Nodal Officer, JNRM.
