Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 25: My Bharat, in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi College, Mayabunder, organized a district-level competition under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign to promote awareness about the importance of a drug-free society and encourage youth participation in nation-building activities.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. S. Krishna Chaitanya, ADM, Mayabunder, in the presence of Mr. Deepak Kumar, District Youth Officer, My Bharat, Dr. B.B. Mondal, Principal In-charge, Mr. Kandimutthu, and faculty members including Prof. Godson, Prof. Ajhar, and Prof. Satyaprakash, among other guests and faculty members. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.
The inaugural address was delivered by Mr. Kandimutthu, followed by an introductory address by Mr. Deepak Kumar, who briefed the participants about the proceedings and activities scheduled for the day.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. S. Krishna Chaitanya, ADM, Mayabunder, highlighted the significance of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat campaign and emphasized the vital role of young people in building a drug-free society. He also spoke about the role of ICRA and the MANAS Helpline in strengthening awareness and prevention initiatives related to substance abuse. He encouraged students to actively participate in various cultural and youth-oriented activities.
As part of the programme, students participated enthusiastically in a range of competitions, including painting, music, dance, slogan writing, and reel-making. Participants also took part in activities such as the Gems of India Challenge through the Gems of India portal, showcasing their creativity, talent, and enthusiasm.
At the conclusion of the competitions, the principal and dignitaries distributed prize money and awards to the first-, second-, and third-place winners in the respective categories. The winners of the district-level competition will advance to the state-level competition, with opportunities to progress further to the national level.
During the closing session, Mr. Deepak Kumar presented a brief report on the proceedings and outcomes of the event. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr. R.V.R. Murthy, Dr. B.B. Mondal, and Mr. S. Krishna Chaitanya, ADM, Mayabunder, for their presence, guidance, and support in making the programme successful.
The event concluded with Prof. Godson delivering the vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and students for their valuable participation and contribution to the successful conduct of the district-level competition.
