Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 25: The Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Pokkadera has urged the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, to urgently post a Junior Engineer (JE) for the Mayabunder and Tugapur areas and ensure the availability of essential electrical materials at the Mayabunder Electricity Department.
In a letter addressed to the Superintending Engineer, the Pradhan stated that the Junior Engineer previously posted for the Mayabunder and Tugapur areas has resigned from service and no replacement has been posted so far. The absence of a regular JE, according to the letter, is causing inconvenience to the general public, particularly in getting electricity-related complaints, maintenance requirements and other essential matters attended to in a timely manner.
The Pradhan also highlighted the non-availability of essential electrical materials at the Mayabunder Electricity Department, which is affecting the timely execution of electricity-related works in the area. The letter specifically sought the availability of necessary materials, including angles, channels, new electric meters, electrical poles, wires and other essential items required for maintenance and service-related works. The Pradhan has requested the Electricity Department to take immediate action on demands of Posting of a Junior Engineer at the earliest for the Mayabunder and Tugapur areas and ensuring adequate availability of essential electrical materials at the Mayabunder Electricity Department.
The Pradhan expressed hope that the Superintending Engineer would intervene in the matter and take necessary steps to ensure smooth, efficient and timely electricity services for the people of Mayabunder and Tugapur.
