
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 23: A computer laboratories at ZPVKV Ferrargunj and ZPVKV Shore Point, in the presence of Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, and other officials of the Zilla Parishad.
The inauguration programmes were also attended by Mr. P. A. Sharfuddin, Chairman, Works and Development Committee; Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Chairman, Education and Social Justice Committee; Mr. Abdul Bashir, ZPM, Ferrargunj; and Mrs. Dhana Rekha, ZPM, Shore Point Constituency, besides teachers, students, parents and local representatives.
The Zilla Parishad South Andaman has provided computers and the necessary infrastructure and facilities to both schools with the objective of strengthening digital education and providing students greater access to modern, technology-enabled learning. The initiative is particularly aimed at empowering students from rural and remote areas with essential computer skills and enabling them to effectively mphasi digital resources for their education.
Addressing the gatherings, Mr. P. Ummer, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, said that education is the foundation for the development of society and that access to technology has become an essential component of quality education. He mphasized that students in rural areas should not be deprived of the opportunities available to students elsewhere. He stated that the establishment of computer laboratories in the schools is therefore an important step towards bridging the digital divide and creating better educational opportunities for children.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prakash Adhikari, Chairman, Education and Social Justice Committee, stated that the Zilla Parishad would continue to accord priority to the development of educational infrastructure and make efforts to provide schools under its jurisdiction with modern facilities, wherever feasible. He urged the students to make maximum use of the computer laboratories for learning, skill development and exploring new areas of knowledge, while using technology responsibly.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajanish Kumar Singh, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad South Andaman, appreciated the initiative and stated that the availability of computers in schools would provide students with valuable exposure to digital learning. He encouraged teachers to integrate technology into classroom teaching and motivate students to mphasi digital resources for academic purposes. He also mphasized the importance of proper maintenance of the facilities to ensure that they continue to benefit students for years to come.
The programmes commenced with a welcome address by the respective Heads of Schools, followed by melodious welcome songs presented by the students. The students and teachers expressed their appreciation for the initiative of the Zilla Parishad South Andaman in providing computer facilities to their schools.
The programmes concluded with a vote of thanks by the school authorities, who expressed their gratitude to the Zilla Parishad South Andaman, the visiting dignitaries, officials and elected representatives for their presence and continued support towards improving educational facilities in the schools.
The newly inaugurated computer laboratories are expected to provide students with enhanced opportunities for digital learning, computer literacy, access to online educational resources and development of essential technology skills, thereby contributing to more inclusive and technology-enabled education in rural areas of South Andaman.
