Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 21: To position the A&N Islands as a premier global destination for film production, the Department of Tourism, A&N Administration, is in the process of notifying a comprehensive Film Policy. The policy aims to attract national and international film producers by offering attractive incentives, seamless operational support, and streamlined logistics for outdoor film shoots across the archipelago.
To establish a robust support network for visiting production crews, the Tourism Department invites applications from interested hoteliers, resorts, tour and travel agents, and transport service providers for empanelment.
Empanelled hotels, resorts, and service providers will extend the following proposed incentives and facilities directly to eligible film production units:
- Accommodation Discounts:
- 30% flat discount on published room tariffs during peak season, and 40% flat discount during the off-season (15 May to 15 September).
- Free access to common areas including swimming pools, beaches, lobbies, and gardens, as well as complimentary use of conference and banquet halls for production needs.
- 20% discount on all Food & Beverage services, laundry services, and spa facilities.
- Assistance with secure storage space for equipment, dedicated guest liability insurance coverage by empanelled hotels, and a single-point contact person for seamless coordination between the crew, hotel, and local Administration.
- Transport Benefits: A 20% discount on existing rates for transport and vehicle hiring charges for outdoor shooting units.
Interested service providers, hoteliers, and travel agents can submit their applications for empanelment to the Directorate of Tourism. By offering these incentives, the A&N Administration aims to boost local employment, drive film tourism, and showcase the pristine natural beauty of the islands to a global audience.
