Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 12: The NSS Units and Red Ribbon Club of Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC), Mayabunder, celebrated International Youth Day with great enthusiasm on August 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in the college auditorium.
Dr. Arnold, Resident and Specialist Medical Officer, and Mr. Susanto Golder, ICTC Counsellor from R.P. The hospital graced the occasion as guests of honour. Addressing the students, they highlighted the importance of AIDS awareness, preventive measures, and the need to develop healthy habits among young people, especially Gen Z.
Dr. R.V.R. Murthy, Principal of MGGC, delivered the presidential address and emphasized the significant role of youth in building a healthy and responsible society.
As part of the celebration, dance and elocution competitions were organized, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and express their ideas on issues concerning youth and society.
The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Kandimuthu and Dr. G. Godson Bedeiah, along with Dr. Rohit Shah, Coordinator of the Red Ribbon Club. All the students of Mahatma Gandhi Government College participated enthusiastically in the programme, making the International Youth Day celebration meaningful and vibrant.
