Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 09: A Tiranga Yatra (Rally) will be held on August 10, 2026, to celebrate national pride, promote the spirit of unity in diversity and inspire the youth towards nation-building initiatives.
The rally is being organized as an apolitical event, with participation expected from people from different walks of life. Padma Shri awardees, sportspersons, retired teachers and ex-servicemen, among others, are also expected to take part in the programme.
The event seeks to highlight the significance of the National Tricolour as a symbol of freedom, sovereignty, unity and the country’s continuous progress. The organizers stated that India’s diversity in terms of cultures, traditions, regions, religions and languages remains a matter of pride and that the spirit of unity should be preserved and strengthened.
The Tiranga Yatra will commence at 3:30 p.m. from the Cellular Jail and proceed towards the Gandhi Statue.
Members of the general public have been urged to participate in the rally and join the celebration of national unity and pride.
