Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 09: Under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, organized awareness programmes on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan” at Mile Tilak Village and the Fish Landing Centre, Guptapara.
The Medical Officer, IRCA, highlighted the harmful effects of alcohol on physical and mental health and created awareness about the de-addiction and rehabilitation services available at the Centre.
The Project Coordinator, NAPDDR highlighted the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse and urged the public, especially parents and youth, to work together towards building a drug-free society. Participants were also informed about the counselling, treatment, and rehabilitation services available at the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA).
Resource Person from various Departments spoke on the occasion. The programmes concluded with the participants taking the “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” pledge. During the interactive session, participants’ queries were addressed by the resource persons.
