
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 02: Mr. , Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, along with Mr. , PSM, met with newly appointed education officials at Vijay Puram to address critical infrastructure and administrative grievances affecting local schools. The delegation held discussions with Mr. , Deputy Director of Education (Planning), and Mr. .., Deputy Director of Education (Personnel) / Nodal Officer (LA), congratulating them on assuming their new roles before highlighting urgent public issues. During the meeting with the Deputy Director of Education (Planning), Mr. Manojit Halder raised serious concerns regarding the severely dilapidated condition of the Government Middle School (GMS) Billyground building.
The Pradhan strongly emphasized that the school’s roof is on the verge of collapse, posing an immediate, life-threatening hazard to the students and staff. He expressed deep regret that despite pursuing this critical safety matter persistently for the last four years, no concrete development or repair work has initiated so far.
He requested immediate intervention to prevent any untoward mishap. Responding to the grievance, Mr. Om Prakash listened patiently and assured the delegation that he would look into the matter on priority and take the necessary steps to repair the school building as early as possible. Subsequently, the Pradhan brought the administrative vacuum at Government Secondary School (GSS) Pinakinagar to the attention of Mr. S.P. Nair, Deputy Director of Education (Personnel). He requested the immediate deployment of a regular Headmaster at GSS Pinakinagar to ensure proper administrative management and academic oversight. Mr. S.P. Nair positively assured the delegation that the vacant position would be resolved very soon.
The PRIs also discussed several other structural and administrative issues pertaining to various schools. The delegation extended their heartfelt gratitude to both the high-ranking officials for their patient hearing, proactive approach, and positive assurances toward upgrading the educational landscape of the region.
