
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 26: As part of the 77th Van Mahotsava, 2026, the Middle Andaman Forest Division successfully organized a Mini Marathon under the theme “Plant Trees Save Earth” on 25th July 2026 at 0500 hrs, witnessing an overwhelming participation of around 350 people from all walks of life.
The Mini Marathon was flagged off from the Forest Check Post, Rangat by Mr. Vikas Yadav, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman, and proceeded via Parnashala Forest Nursery before concluding near the Office of the Divisional Forest Office, Hawamahal. The event was conducted successfully as per schedule, promoting the message of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
Participants included children (boys and girls), general category (male and female), and senior citizens, reflecting the community’s collective commitment towards protecting forests and preserving the environment.
On the occasion, Mr. Vikas Yadav, IFS, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the public, educational institutions, volunteers, and Forest Department staff. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen public awareness and inspire collective action towards conserving forests and creating a greener future.
The programme concluded with a pledge by the participants to plant more trees and protect the environment. The Middle Andaman Forest Division extends its sincere gratitude to all Forest Department staff, participants, volunteers, and supporters for making the event a grand success and reinforcing the message “Plant Trees Save Earth.”
