Sri Vijaya Puram, July 12: Mr. Manojit Halder, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Harinagar, held a meeting with the newly appointed officials of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) — Mr. Johnvali Shaik, Deputy General Manager (DGM), Mayabunder, and Mr. Lalit Kumar, Manager, Mayabunder. The meeting aimed to expedite several critical, long-pending public infrastructure projects under the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat Harinagar.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the immediate execution of two major public utility projects. These include the construction of a Modern Toilet Block-cum-Bus Stand beside National Highway-4 (NH-4) under Gram Panchayat Harinagar and the construction of three new Bus Queue Shelters at strategic locations near Swadesh Nagar Bridge (Harinagar, Ward No. 4), near the residence of Nani Karmakar (Harinagar, Ward No. 6), and near the Anganwadi Centre (Jaipur, Ward No. 1) to improve facilities for commuters.
Mr. Manojit Halder had earlier pursued these projects vigorously with the Deputy Commissioner (DC), North & Middle Andaman, and the Assistant Commissioner (HQ) to obtain the necessary administrative clearances.
During the interaction, the newly appointed NHIDCL officials acknowledged that they had received formal directions from the Deputy Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner regarding the implementation of these projects. The DGM and the Manager assured the Pradhan that the groundwork for the Modern Toilet Block-cum-Bus Stand and the Bus Queue Shelters would commence immediately, bringing an end to the long-pending public utility issues.
The officials further assured that all pending National Highway repair works within the jurisdiction of Gram Panchayat Harinagar would also be taken up immediately and completed without further delay, ensuring improved road infrastructure and better public convenience in the area.
