Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: ABVP Celebrates 78th Foundation Day and National Students’ Day with Tribute to Swami Vivekananda and Tree Plantation Drive at JNRM College
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, celebrated its 78th Foundation Day and National Students’ Day with a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda and a Tree Plantation Drive at JNRM College, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The programme began with a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda at his statue on the college campus, followed by a Tree Plantation Drive under ABVP’s nationwide environmental campaign to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to protect nature.
Dr. Pearl Dev Das, Principal, JNRM College, who appreciated ABVP’s continuous efforts towards student welfare, environmental conservation, and nation-building. He extended his greetings on National Students’ Day and assured continued support for student-centric initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajeev Tiwari, Vice President, ABVP Andaman & Nicobar Islands, highlighted ABVP’s role in developing responsible student leadership and urged students to actively contribute to society and the nation through the organisation.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Jha, Vice President, Dakshin Bang ABVP, also addressed the students and encouraged them to work with dedication, discipline, and patriotism.
Among those present were Mr. V. Sharan Shiva, Convener, North & Middle Andaman, ABVP; Ms. Manisha Das, Sa-Chhatra Pramukh, ABVP A&N Islands; Ms. Kanisha Mondal, Chhatra Pramukh; Ms. C. S Rohini, Convener, Andaman Law College, ABVP; and Mr. Manish Kumar, Pramukh, Students for Development (SFD). A large number of students, faculty members, well-wishers, and ABVP karyakartas participated in the programme.
The programme was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Kunal Bain, Vibhag Sanyojak, ABVP.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Satyajit Halder, Secretary, ABVP Andaman & Nicobar Islands & National Executive Council (NEC) Member, who thanked the Principal, faculty members, guests, students, and karyakartas for their support. He also expressed gratitude to the Principal for extending full cooperation and assuring continued support for future student-centric programmes.
The programme concluded with a joint plantation of saplings by the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and ABVP karyakartas. ABVP reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the planted saplings and announced that similar plantation drives would be conducted across educational institutions in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the coming days.
