Sri Vijaya Puram, July 09: As per the latest weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (40–50 kmph) and lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from July 12 to July 15, 2026.
According to the fishermen warning issued by IMD, no warning is in force for July 10. However, squally winds with speeds reaching 35–45 kmph, occasionally gusting up to 55 kmph, are likely to prevail along and off the Andaman & Nicobar coasts from July 10 to July 13, 2026. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Andaman & Nicobar coasts during this period.
Further, a Swell Surge Alert has been issued for the Andaman & Nicobar coasts. Swell waves with a period of 16–17 seconds and a height of 1.6–1.7 metres are forecast up to 8:30 PM on July 10, 2026. There is a possibility of surging waves, and boats plying in coastal waters are advised to exercise utmost vigilance. Recreational activities near the sea should also be undertaken with due caution.
For farmers, light to moderate rainfall is very likely at a few places over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 10 and 11, while light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places on July 12 and 13.
The Port Warning indicates that the outlook for the subsequent two days is little change.
