Sri Vijaya Puram, July 6:SBI RSETI Sri Vijaya Puram has been consistently working towards empowering rural unemployed youth across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through a wide range of skill development training programmes aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship. A significant proportion of the beneficiaries are women belonging to NRLM Self-Help Groups (SHGs), who are equipped with practical skills to enhance their livelihood opportunities.
During the current financial year, the Institute, with the support of the Directorate of Rural Development, conducted a skill development training programme at Campbell Bay Gram Panchayat, where 33 women trainees completed the programme and gained valuable skills for self-employment.
Building on this momentum, SBI RSETI Sri Vijaya Puram proposes to expand its outreach by conducting several skill development programmes across the Islands in the coming months. The planned initiatives include a computerised accounting programme at Sri Vijaya Puram, LMV Driving Training programmes at Shaheed Dweep, Car Nicobar, and Mayabunder, and women tailoring programme at Shibpur Gram Panchayat, Diglipur. The Institute remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering unemployed youth through quality skill development, enabling them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs and contribute meaningfully towards the vision of an Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
