Port Blair, Feb 24: The Bharatiya Janta Party has demanded immediate induction of MV Campbell Bay, MV Afrabay and MV Karmatang into service.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, the Chief Secretary and the Director of Shipping Services, A & N Administration the State President of BJP lauded the move of inducting MV Samsun, which will solve problems of Islanders living in Southern Group of Islands, to some extend. Mohan also lauded the efforts of Director, DSS Mr. Sheshasai who was the one man committee to acquire this ship on lease.
In his letter Mohan urged the Administration to either replace the sick vessels from the ship building yards, from where these were purchased or to press these vessels into service after repair works. Mohan also demanded an inquiry on these vessel purchase deal.
