
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: Awareness programme on the Unique Disability ID (UDID) Scheme was organized on 20th May 2026 at 11:00 AM at Ayush Hospital, Junglighat, as part of its continued initiative to create awareness regarding the UDID Scheme and government welfare services for Persons with Disabilities.
Programme was attended by Medical Officers, staffs, Anganwadi Workers, and general public. During the programme, the State Coordinator (UDID), sensitized the participants on the UDID Scheme, benefits of the UDID card, registration process, disability certification process, and technical aspects related to online registration, encouraging eligible beneficiaries to register under the scheme. Further, Rehabilitation Officer, CRC Brookshabad, highlighted the various services and support provided by CRC for Persons with Disabilities, including the provision of assistive devices, rehabilitation support services, and facilities available for Divyangjans through CRC A & N Islands.
During the session, Medical Officer (Homoeo), Ayush Hospital, spoke about the special Autism Clinic conducted every Wednesday at Ayush Hospital and also highlighted the periodical camps organised for Divyangjans at CRC A & N Islands, emphasizing the importance of early identification, awareness, and timely intervention for children with developmental conditions. Further, Medical Officer (Ayurveda) Ayush Hospital, briefed the participants about the process of applying for the UDID card, its registration procedure, and the challenges faced by Divyangjans due to lack of proper guidance and awareness regarding the UDID application process. An interactive session was also conducted with the Anganwadi Workers, during which their queries regarding disability certification, registration, and government welfare schemes were addressed. The Department is committed to the effective implementation of the UDID Scheme in close coordination with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring greater awareness, outreach, and access to welfare services for Persons with Disabilities. Programme aimed at creating awareness and promoting registration under the UDID Scheme to ensure better access to government benefits and services for Persons with Disabilities.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the support and participation of all attendees.
