Sri Vijaya Puram, May 12: The 1st Open Muaythai State Level Championship 2026 was successfully organized by Champions Zone Muaythai and MMA Club under the aegis of the Muaythai Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
A total of 29 athletes participated in the championship, displaying remarkable talent, discipline and fighting spirit during the competition. Following the event, eight athletes have been selected to represent the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the upcoming Muaythai National Championship scheduled to be held at Haldwani from June 1 to 5, 2026.
The championship was attended by Guests of Honour Shri Azizur Rehaman, Shri Ration Rasheed, Shri Yamin, Shri Sameer Bajaj and President of the Muaythai Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Veedur Narayan.
In the championship, Akshar, Vedika, Keerthana, Madhu, Aadhi, Aarav, Ruhaan Joji Simon, K. Aditya, Asish, P. Charan, Tanzim, Vikas, Monisha, Pranav, Shabaz and Jayasuriya secured first positions in their respective categories.
Ruhaani, Sarayu, Azlaan, Nitesh, Aadhi Narayana, Ayush, Krishna, Yash, Sanjid and Krishna secured second positions, while Anji, Surya and Deepak finished in third place.
The organizers congratulated all winners, participants, coaches, parents and supporters for contributing to the successful conduct of the championship. They stated that the growing enthusiasm among young athletes reflects a bright future for Muaythai in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
